Antigonids in Asia Minor-Hell yeah, but what to call them?
https://i232.photobucket.com/albums/...o/fsddsf-1.jpg
This is how Greece and Asia Minor looks in my Carthaginian campaign in 252 BC (or well, it´s a bit less blurry). Anyway, point is, the Makedonians have been driven from Makedonia by the Epirotes, and since most of their kingdom is in Asia Minor and their capital in Pergamon I don´t want to call them Makedonia anymore.
So I´m wondering what I should call them. They own Demetrias, Chalkis, Mytilene, Nikaia, Pergamon and Ipsos. Their capital is in Pergamon, as is their military base.
Their Basileus is Kalos Argeades, and I was thinking that maybe he´d do like Seleukos Nikator and Ptolemaios Soter and name it after himself.
Anyway, I really need some advice on what to call them (and maybe some how the change their name in-game, though I could always just search around for that).
The name can be either just what they´d most likely been called had it actually happened, or just really cool. Preferably both though.
Thanks in advance.

It would seem logical to call it the Kingdom of Pergamon, or whatever the translation would be in Greek. After all, Pergamon was quite a successful diadochi(sp?) state in history.

Yeh. Pergamese Kingdom definitely.

Re: Antigonids in Asia Minor-Hell yeah, but what to call them?
I believe the Pergamene Kingdom was ruled by the Attalid dynasty. If you have a decent family member with the name Attalos, you could make him the heir, and upon his ascension to the throne you could begin playing the Pergamene Attalids.

Yeah but you know, I´m Carthage. I think I´ll either go with Arche Antigoneia or whatever the Pergamese Kingdom would be in Greek. Any one that could help me with that?

Well, I´ve gone ahead and changed the ex-Maks colour to something which I think might look a little bit like Pergamon will in EB2. Maybe I should add a little more purple though.

You could act like the remnants of the Makedonians allied with Pergamon and created a new power or something. For Pergamese Kingdom, it would be Basileion Pergamou in Greek:yes:

Re: Antigonids in Asia Minor-Hell yeah, but what to call them?
Sounds pretty good. I think I´ll go with Basileion Pergamou, but I´m always open for suggestions.
Edit: Just struck me, what should I do with assassins and stuff like that? I´ve got to change their name as well. Pergamon spy maybe, or what would the correct term be? Pergamonese? Pergamoui?

Re: Antigonids in Asia Minor-Hell yeah, but what to call them?
In english it should be Pergamese.

Re: Antigonids in Asia Minor-Hell yeah, but what to call them?
Yep, in English. Pergamon spy would be just perfect. Pergamon could be the name of the faction as well, but since you wanted the faction named to Kingdom of Pergamon, I gave you the exact ancient greek traslation.

Re: Antigonids in Asia Minor-Hell yeah, but what to call them?
Very well then, I shall set about renaming the faction. It´s of even greater urgency now that they´ve been kicked out of Demetrias and Chalkis, and are confined to Asia Minor. Though they are looking to conquer Byzantion, I hope they won´t retake their homeland and force me to rename them again.
Anyway, thanks for the help.

Don'r think so, after taking a major beating by the Epeirotes, they should stay away from them, for the time being...

Should yes, but will? Unlikely.

Re: Antigonids in Asia Minor-Hell yeah, but what to call them?

Well it´s done. Thanks for all the help.

What'd you decide to call them?
-
Re: Antigonids in Asia Minor-Hell yeah, but what to call them?
Basileion Pergamou. Great name really. They´re doing pretty fine, even threatening the remaining Seleukid positions in Sardis, and has even had a go on Mazaka.

Re: Antigonids in Asia Minor-Hell yeah, but what to call them?
Did you do the naming just for roleplaying and visual concerns for your AR in quick photoshopping spree, or did you actually change the faction name and colour in your build of EB? If you did, might I ask how?

No, in English it should be Pergamene. Trust me, I'm a classicist. In Greek, it should be something along the lines of Arche Pergamene, Epikratia Pergamene or some such.

Re: Antigonids in Asia Minor-Hell yeah, but what to call them?
Both is easy to be done. For faction names, go to data/text/expanded_bi.txt and change a faction's name to whateaver you please. Of course, in the same file, you should change things like for example, change Makedonian Spy, Faction Leader, Faction Heir, Capital ect. to Pergamon Spy, Faction Leader, Faction Heir, Capital ect..
As for colours, just go to data/descr_sm_factions.txt and find the line of primary faction's colours. It's in rgb values but here is a nice little site with colours and their rgb values.
Hope this helped!
