EB won't start
Hi there !
I've installed RTW with patches 1.3 & 1.5
I've also installed EB into C:\activision\Rome - total war
When I try to start EB, the console pop up for a sec then the red fullscreen saying Activision etc.. with the Hoplites in the background. Then it just goes away and nothing happens.
These are the missing files:
Missing file: .\data\menu\symbols\fe_buttons_24\symbol24_gauls.tga
Missing file: .\data\menu\symbols\fe_buttons_24\symbol24_gauls_grey.tga
Missing file: .\data\menu\symbols\fe_buttons_24\symbol24_gauls_roll.tga
Missing file: .\data\menu\symbols\fe_buttons_24\symbol24_gauls_select.tga
Then it changed some and added a lot of files.
What can I do?
I have windows XP and free disk space.

Re: EB won't start
Verify that the shortcut includes -mod:eb. If you're not using the Trivial Script, you probably should try that.

Re: EB won't start
I've tried the target: Directory\RomeTW.exe -mod:eb -nm -show_err
as you wrote in a previous post with a player encountering the same problem. But my computer states that it isn't valid.
When I try to start TrivialScript id says
XMLScriptParser: Couldn't load file: script.xml
What should I do?

Re: EB won't start
You have to replace 'directory' with the drive letter, and all parent directories to your 'Rome -Total War' folder. 'directory' is just another word for 'folder'.
The whole target line should read e.g.: '"c:\Games\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -mod:eb -show_err -nm'
The easiest way to create the shortcut would be to ope Windows Explorer, browse to the folder containing rometw.exe, right-click (and hold) and drag the rometw.exe file to the desktop, release right mouse button, choose 'create shortcut here' (or whatever the option is called in english or your OS language [I have a german Vista x64]) from the appearing context menu. Then right click on that shortcut and choose properties. In the target line add -mod:eb -show_err -nm at the end. Click OK (italic characters used to show waht has to be added).

Re: EB won't start
Thanks for being theral with me and all, but I used "Directory" since I didn't feel like typing the exact folder.. I know that I, in this case, should use "C:\activision\Rome - Total war" etc..
Thanks though..

Re: EB won't start
When Windows says it's invalid, I think you've made a typing mistake somewhere. Please try Theages' suggestion with right-dragging the exe to create the shortcut.
