What's Next to Your Toilet?
The Men's Health thread got me thinking about bathroom reading material. What do you like to read whilst doing your business? What magazines help you to make plopping noises in the water? I'll kick off the proceedings:
The Economist. It's like Time or Newsweek, but with smaller pictures and more words. The only weekly news magazine that's absolutely guaranteed to be celebrity news-free.
CPU. Good all-around computer magazine, takes up where Byte left off (that's a blatant bone being thrown to older Orgahs).
Maximum PC. Pornography for people who enjoy computer hardware.
The wife keeps a couple of mags in there, Martha Stewart Living and Women's Fitness last time I looked.
So what's next to your can?

Re: What's Next to Your Toilet?
Ewwww, who reads on the toilet? Surely it is preferable to get it out quickly and read somewhere more comfortable?

Re: What's Next to Your Toilet?
I have an old copy of the British Daily Mail, because such journalism scares the **** out of me.

Various D&D sourcebooks. Currently, the Book of Vile Darkness.

Re: What's Next to Your Toilet?
Several Flight Journal magazines, some Smithsonian Air & Space, a few of her Women's Health, and a few Discovery Kids magazines. (My 12 year-old has taken to reading in the can. God help me.)

Ditto that. I used to read while on the toilet, but I almost never do so anymore. Nowadays, I just like to let my mind wander -- it's quite pleasant, actually.

I hope for your 12 year-old's sake you meant on the can... right? :hide:
As per the OT, I usually bring in whatever book I'm reading at the time.

Re: What's Next to Your Toilet?
Someting about science or something about history. Or Asterix.
And during the exams, when I notice it's going to take a while, sometimes I take my notes with me.

Re: What's Next to Your Toilet?
I think if you're in there long enough to merit reading something, there has to be a problem.

Re: What's Next to Your Toilet?
A Dutch philosophy book called Philosophy for in bed, bath or bathroom. The complete Heidegger in 1 minute 15 seconds. The readable Hegel. The crappable Ian Rand. That sort of stuff.

.
I sketch music compositions or ponder philosophical problems doing my business. As per "Türk'ün aklı ya kaçarken ya ..çarken başına gelir" I don't enjoy 'running away' for whatever reason and prefer the other option to make up my mind.

Re: What's Next to Your Toilet?
Whatever book I'm currently reading. We have three toilets for just me and my wife, so I can take all the time I need.
