It's hardly serious, but anyone attempting to enter the forums from the .Org main page gets hit with some kinda weird hack page. Dunno what its purpose is, but it's annoying. Obviously, the rest of the forum is fine.

You mean when you click "forum" on www.totalwar.org ? It works correctly for me, although my firewall did block an active element from Playhistory.net (or was it .org?). Never seen that before on our site.
Odd, it's not happening now, though when I went to www.totalwar.org I was redirected to a spam website dealing with drug rehab... only happened once, though. Must be a non-issue.
But yeah, it was the "forums" link at the .org front page.
I got hit with it too earlier today. Seems fine now though.
Welcome to Friday the 13th, gentlemen.
Gah. Hadn't even noticed that til you pointed it out, Kek. :laugh4:
Yeah, I had this happen too, I got a dialog box asking me to download an "antivirus" program, looked very spammy to me. I had to close the browser to get rid of it. It only happened once though, and it seems to have gone now.
The 14th over here :P you people are talking about the past... so I must be talking in the future.
Wow, that IS weird... glad that's all that happened.
some advertisers are not genuine,
they are script kiddies with a few pennies, or a stolen credit card, they place ads with a reputable company,
those ads have "pass through" code which hijacks your browser when you leave the page that contains the ad and redirects you to a bad space.
They hit a major (online version) newspaper here that way some months back, not that the newspaper would admit to it,
but when the paper was notified about what was happening the entire set of ads was pulled within minutes.
All who have seen odd pages i would recommend running the free versions of SpybotSD and Adaware,
AVGFree is also recommended if you dont ordinarily have a virus scanner running. (many people don't)
