Why the heck can't a link to that thread be PROMINENTLY displayed on the Home Page??
Certain questions will continue to be asked over and over again, literally, forever! Everyone who tries MTW will have them, for example:
1) Ships, Ships, and more Ships
2) Trade and Money, Money and Trade
These two questions in particular. The answers are not simple and usually require a considerable discourse to be understood reasonably well.
The answers have already be covered quite thoroughly by pretty knowledgeable patrons; and any new angles to these old dilemmas are held all over in different thread, sometimes with unclear titles.
It would be better for all, to have the collective knowledge of the forum stored and "readily" accessable in a single location.
Bumping the TOC, just isn't a good solution.

Upgrade to a new forum engine that allows sticky topics would make this a tad easier... like having the TOC sticky at the top all the time.
But a really good solution would require work on behalf of some patrons: To put together a real FAQ, based on the wide knowledge base of the MTW community on this board.
Then a nice, clear link to the FAQ could be placed here and everybody would just have to go there and do some reading.

Hmmmm....guess your right, don't know why I didn't think of that.
Guess, tommorrow when more people are around, it'll be time to divvy up the work load.
I guess I know as much about ships as anyone, so I'll volunteer for that. Have it written up by Monday.
I could co-ordinate and put it altogether in a Word document. I'm pretty handy with WordPerfect/Word, but not so with html, etc., so it might take me toooo long for that, but with help I'd give it a go.

i was wondering on this version of the board can you move the postion of the existing hotlinks ? For example at the bottom of the page their is a link back to the front page of totalwar.org
if we could shift that to the top of the page and instead of the link to the main page it could be the link to the table of contents.
the majority of us are going to use our back buttons if we wanna go back to the main page or just type it again so losing the link is not that big of an issue IMHO
or if we really want to highlight the table of contents we could do away with the pic at the top of the page and post a big sign saying.

if you click on the sign it takes you straight to the toc.

Dont you think a better idea would be to put this info onto a web site........
You could then summerize it and add unit stats etc.

Certainly agree with this. People should be more clear when giving a tittle to a new thread.
