Soldiers switch to their secondary weapon.
Re: After all, what the point of command "ALT + rightclick"?
It is a useful way to make your archers, horse archers, peltasts, or other skirmisher troops charge into an enemy...
Re: After all, what the point of command "ALT + rightclick"?
and most important send cavalry to attack whit swords instead of spears
Re: After all, what the point of command "ALT + rightclick"?
To elaborate, alt + right click will cavalry will make them charge with their lances, then switch to swords once they stop.

The game's manual won't bite you if you read it.
You are right to distrust it, however. You can get some nasty paper-cuts from it.

So cavalry charges with their swords by default?, despite the animation that shows the lowered lances?

no. if you right-click only for the attack, they will continue using lances for melee. alt-right click and they will charge with the lance/spear then switch to swords (or whatever the secondary weapon is) for melee...

Unless they're too close to the enemy.
But, in general, alt+right click is good for ordering the charge (from a distance), or at least for switching to secondary weapons once charge is over and melee has started.

Is it just me or does the title of this thread remind anyone of "So what faction replace numidia and what bartix!?". It may just be the fact that both threads sound like a continuation of a conversation and are followed by grammatical errors. :laugh4:
