A gift to fellow EB fans: Historical pictures galore!
This is about 6 months late, but I've been finally able to host all the pictures of my honeymoon in Italy / Greece / Turkey. Before, these were hosted on my own machine, but now they're hosted on a professional server (word to the wise: don't host your own website at home, the cheap man pays the most!). These included tons of pictures of ruins, vases depicting gods and battles (often taken while the museum docents weren't looking), as well as bronze weaponry and armor. Hopefully these will help your imagination while playing EB.
Take a peek.

but what's with the german commode?:inquisitive:

Yes, that's called a "German Toilette" or "Tableau Style". More common, at least in private houses, is the "French Toilette", that has the hole in the middle, what is more comfortable, in particular during "longer sessions". The brush you'll find next to every WC in Germany. It is meant to clean the WC from any traces of your deeds afterwards.

woah, wait! Doesn't everyone have a toilet brush? How the hell do you clean the toilet afterwards?
Foot

Don't know about you Foot mate but 4/5 of the toilet brushes I see in the UK would probably just make the bog worse if you tried to use it ;)
Nice pics anyway Ferro, cheers for posting up here been to a few of the locations myself (chiefly in Greece, Rhodes and also Kushadasi/Ephesus) but unfortunately didn't have a digicam at the time so its nice to recap :)
Cheers

Seems not to be the case in Chicago, IL.
Re: A gift to fellow EB fans: Historical pictures galore!
Yeah, we had a stopover in Frankfurt, and I thought it was just hilarious. If you don't aim quite right, your duty just ah er, sits there. I suppose the Germans encourage you to inspect the goods? Or it's to prevent a blowback effect on your bum when you deploy your charge? Okay I'll stop now. I won't even get into how Greek plumbing works.~D

I didn't get what's special about that toilet... a "lip"? Edit: Ah... I think I understood.

Ha, she doesn't mind too much as long as I get stuff done:whip: She thinks the voices in the game are hilarious: at one of the gallic unit voices she's like "is he saying AMINO ACID?!"

Good. :laugh4:
My girlfriend hated the fact that I didn't answer her calls cause I was playing and made me stop for three months. Started again on the same day we broke up. Nothing better than crushing the Romans when you are in bad mood.:skull:

-----------------------------------EB(game, not team):-----------------
-----------------now your playing with emotional insecurity...

I couldn't resist. It indeed helps me relax, forget all about that girl (along with prayer, and the 2 greats of internet comedy)

Thanks for taking the time to post those pictures. Seeing real versions of the Etruscan armor was nice, and I've always been a fan of the Greek style of armor .

Oh it was great! also I found out once and for all what was up with that Corinthian helmet the romans wore... Apparently it was the style of Greek pottery to have the helmet up on your head so you could see the face of the god/hero who was wearing it... Then the romans copied that helm so that it was ALWAYS up on your head. I guess they didn't see the OTHER (earlier) pottery that showed the helms down. Good stuff.
This statue was my favorite because it's a microcosm of the Mediterranean world at the time.
It was a statue commissioned by a Gaul, constructed by Etruscans, in the latest and greatest of Greek combat gear (5th century BC).
Statue further explained here.
Re: A gift to fellow EB fans: Historical pictures galore!
Is that llamellar armor on him? Or reinforce lino that lined the plates like llamellar?
Interesting how the Celts and Etruscans seemed to get a long.
Re: A gift to fellow EB fans: Historical pictures galore!
of course they got along: the romans didn't like either, and they didn't like the romans:clown:
"united against the common enemy"
just kidding-i think that wasn't what started this.
