What does it do, besides allowing your armies to move at the same rate they would do through your own territory? Does it also mean you don't get supply problems?
In my game I've still got an alliance and military access with the Ptolemies, I'm thinking I might use that to march an army through Pamphylia and Kilikia to attack the Seleukids in their heartland. That or ship some troops to Kilikia and go from there.
Your allies won't be pissed off with having your armies marching through their lands. Supposedly, allied AI-factions tend to either attack your armies when passing through allied territory (without military access) or otherwise they will leave your alliance.
Certainly is that. Not sure about the supply situation, my general has Understanding of Logistics so doesn't tend to suffer much anyway.
In my Macedonian campaign, I was allied to the Ptolomaics against the Seleucids. Since I wanted to do a surprise of Ptolomaic surrounded, Seleucid Syria, I decided to land my Elite Army in the Ptolomaic Syrian coast without a military access treaty. The very next turn, the Ptolomaics began besieging my Asia Minor cities. >_>Quote:

It is a real feature in the MTW2 engine however, so it should matter in EB2...
