Re: princess unhistorical
I'm not really that knowledgeable about history, but I believe it would depend on who's family was 'higher' socially speaking. For example if an English princess maried a French general I belive that general would in-fact join the English, even be considered a member of the royal family, much like in the game, except-ofcourse he would never be the heir unless there were no surviving male members of the family. However if said general was in-fact a member of the French royal family (even if he was several steps removed from the throne) he would not.
If you could only steal non-family members with a princess I think that would be realistic, unfortunately almost all generals are members of the royal family, so it really is quite silly. Although the maraige alliance is done quite well.
Re: princess unhistorical
ye i guess ur right. some random general would be traitorus and join the other faction but in mtw2, i believe the princess could steal any1, familymember or general, unless if the family guy is the heir or king.
Re: princess unhistorical
I suppose if they had made it so that the princess marrying the general would ensure him being 3rd or so in line ot the throne, that would have helped :tongue2:
Normally though, the princess is the daughter of a living leader or heir, so the marrying genera/member should get a bump in terms of position to the throne. I agree they could have added a factor in for that though to modify the chance of success.
