Difficulty settings of a campaign in progress
Hello.
First post, first question :)
How can i know the difficulty settings of the campaign i'm currently playing?
I'm not asking to change these settings, just to know them.
Cause the Ai seems not to be very aggressive, so i would like to check if i have chosen the Very Hard Difficulty for campaign.
Thanks
Sorry for my english :)
Re: Difficulty settings of a campaign in progress
Hi Dagaan, welcome. When you first start a campaign, when choosing your faction the difficulty settings are on the left of the screen, as oppose to the faction shields on the right and the map in the centre. I think the recommended setting for EB is H/M-Hard campaign and Medium Battles (or at least this is the most common combo) because the AI is not stupidly aggressive but does attack, and medium battles gives no bonus' nor takes any away from the AI. I think there is a way to check what difficulty setting you are on during a campaign if you have already started, but the exact knowledge on how to do so has escaped me at the moment, sorry :sweatdrop:. If in your campaign the AI is being aggressive, this may be just because it is different from the Vanilla Rome:Total War, or perhaps your cities are weakly garrissoned and easy targets etc.

Thx the bean.
If you remember the way to know the difficulty settings during a campaign, i would appreciate.
In fact, in my previous post, i meant the AI is not very aggressive, may be too passive. I can conquer without any problems.
I played 10 years, and i was besieged only 1 time whereas i have conquered the major part of the italy and all the sicily.
Re: Difficulty settings of a campaign in progress
Oh sorry, misread. Well, you may have it on an easier setting, or maybe your just very good lol. The Romani (i'm guessing thats who you are) are the easiest faction in the game to start with, and one of the most fun. Using them to conquer italy in the begining is much easier than other faction starting positions as they have few nearby enemies who dont have problems elsewhere, but your campaign will undoubtably get harder as your empire increases.
Are you activating the background script everytime you play? I'm not 100% sure if this affects the AI's aggression but it might do.

It definitely does. Without the script practically all AI factions will be bankrupt from turn 2 or 3 onwards. Bankrupt factions don't create armies, thus expect limited to no aggression then.
