faction icons and more

i was reading some were that the faction icons were meant to be more colourful in eb 1.1 but the faction icons in my game are dull and blurry also the section were you set the unit formation etc
is a very pale shade off red (i playing as romani).

has anyone else come across this?:balloon2::balloon2::balloon2:

That would be my doing. The faction icons (that roll across the top or that you see in the diplomacy window) vary according to what culture group you are playing as. The ones you see on load screens don't vary - those are the colorful and bright ones as you would say. But if you play as nomads, the icons at the top and on the diplomacy part look like fabric, when you play as Greek they look like marble, when you play as eastgreek they look like mosaic, when you play as roman they look like they are on a Roman wall fresco, etc. It's meant to make the graphic user interface more customized and unique for each culture group.

i just had a look in the is your eb working post and i did notice the mosaaic look and its quite clear with good colour(well done by the way).
but the ones on my game are no were near that quality especially in the diplomacy screen i can hardly see them at all
they just seem washed out and blurred like there on a really old crt monitor.

any advise to fix this ?

There is no fix. The colors are much more muted in the Roman GUI, but it was done on purpose. You can revert to the vanilla GUI if you like by renaming the Roman interface file in the EB/Data/UI/Roman folder.

If they are blurred it is because you are playing on a higher resolution than 1024x768. There is nothing that can be done about that and it is recommended you play at 1024x768.

But playing on 1024x768 on a 24" 16:10 TFT kinda... sucks:sweatdrop:

I prefer high resolution even if the UI gets blocky due to its low resolution (damn CA, couldn't they have thinked of that some guys would still play RTW 4 years after release with a super brilliant mod and would like to play in high-res? ;) ). At least the campaign map and the battles look awesome and big this way :yes::smash:

i had a fiddle with the brightness up to full in the preferencs that helped a bit and checked other factions they are fine so its just the romani at least i now know hte program is working fine
