Need a liiiiiiiiiitle help.

I've been getting CTDs in campaign mode.

Yes, I know this is nothing new, but I THINK I know what's wrong.

So, could someone please tell me, with locations/names for files involved if possible, EXACTLY what happens when one has completely overtaken one of the clans in Campaign Mode.

The reason why I think so is that it only seems to crash when I eradicate the clan.

If for some reason it matters, Oda is the clan whose heads are being put on pikes.

If I'm right, this will be very very fixable.

Are you saying that the crash occurs when the Oda is being wiped out or does the crash occur when any clan is being destroyed.

I don't know, I'm going to try to take down another clan to see.

Happens with Imagawa too, so I'm assuming any clan.

Tech novice here so im just guessing... it is something to do with the clan destroyed movie ? (it does play a movie right ?) try disabling the movie and you just get a message instead, which hopefully won't cause a CTD

Is it the movie or message that does it or something else you think ?

Is the movie a fullscreen movie or one of the ones that are windowed (like the ninja movies)?

If so, disabled them already.

I think its a window'd one, it may just be a message though... has been a while

Im just guessing now but is direct x usually to do with graphics ? have you tried tinkering with screen resolution and other graphic settings in game ?

Also i have found putting things in compatibility mode for windows 98 helps with some old games, right click shortcut for shogun and i think its under the menu on the right...

DirectX is graphics AND sound.

The last things I see before the CTD are the message that I've either taken the clan's castle or 'ninja assasination success' or even if I simply killed the Daimyo via battle, 'Victory!'

Well try fiddling with graphics, try muting or replacing sound, and try out different compatabilitys modes...

Muting doesn't work, no luck with graphics, running Windows ME so no compatability mode issues.

According to the internets, .CPP is for Maya OpenGL scene, so logically it should be an error with OpenGL. DIrectX says it's working fine though.

Ok i do have one more idea for you guys, can you go on your graphic card settings on disable anti-anilising (really haven't got a clue of the spelling) and whatever the other one is (just disable your fancy options on graphics card, tweak with compatibility mode)

Other than that try asking in the Apocthery (spelt something like that)

I found how to resolve this problem - with big help from twcenter.net :)
Its not graph but audio drivers. From codecs or nero.
First of all when game crash (I got XP so I see bug report) check which file is causing problem,
then find it on hdd, check what folder is it and....
I changed its localisation but delete should work too.
Game works without any problem now.
