A List of the Ports in EB

Hi, seeing the glorious project of finding the present day's city names for EB-settlements, I want to make a list of all the ports in EB, because often they are an important city on their own.

So if you know the name of an EB-port, I'd be very glad when you share it. Some are easy because they are the chief city itself, or were built as the chief city's harbour from scratch, but some are totally different.


Amaseia = Amastris
Ambrakia = Ambrakia
Antiocheia = Seleukeia Pieria
Athenai = Piraeus
Byzantion = Perinthos
Capua = Neapolis?
Halikarnassos = Caunus? Telmessus?
Hierosolyma = Gaza?
Korinthos = Korinthos
Kotais = Phasis?
Lilibeo = Selinunt?
Nikaia = Daskylium
Pella = Thessalonike
Pergamon = Assus?
Rhodos = Rhodos
Rhegion = Kroton
Roma = Ostia
Salamis = Paphos
Sardeis = Smyrna
Side = Attalia?
Sidon = Tyros
Sparte = Helos?
Tarentum = Hydruntum?
Tylis = Tomis

So this is the ports as they were then? Ummm... most of the obvious ones are port cities themselves... Sorry, can't help. Good luck though, it's nice to see this sort of thing.

For Antiocheia it was Seleukeia Pieria.

Thank you so far. C'mon, at least the guys who made the map must have some knowledge on why they choose that port and not those other ones...

Most of those choices were made two or three years ago, often by now ex-members.

Demetrius was Demetrius, Carthage was Carthage, Alexandria was Alexandria. I suppose.

Surely not. The port located in EB is clearly not Carthage. The port of Carthage is represented through the wonderous building in the city. Would the EB-team have wanted to include the historical port of Carthage itself in EB, they would have surely made it the way like in Alexandria, Demetrias or Korinthos.

Alexandria = Alexandria.
Demetrias = Demetrias. Accepted.

Alalia = Alalia?
Carali = Olbia???
Epidamnos = Lissos?
Kydonia = Rhetymnon?
Massalia = Massalia?

I think the Carthage harbour ingame is located at Kerkaoune (or however its spelt)
Utica is Bizerta?

Hadrumentums port could be one of a bunch of towns in that area.

What about

Kyrene = Euphesperides?
Lepki = Oea? Sabrata?
Adrumeto = Thapsos?
Atiqa = Hippo Diarrhytos?

Kallatis = Tyras?
