Edit: Bit of over cropping but eh, only a bit of sky missing from the top and the UI below.
hmm .. Why isn't this stickied? :inquisitive:
I have over 15,000 screenshots (no kidding) and don´t really have the time to go through them all looking for a really good one, so I´ll just put something in for funs sake.
King of the Hill

You see that guy in the middle with the shield up high? He´s really just in the middle of an animation to defend against a Pontic attack, but since he has higher ground it looks kinda wierd. To me it looks like he gesturing to, like you know, "follow me!", or something like that. Eh, I don´t know, maybe I´m reading to much into it.

The floating arrow of God, the omen that brings divine victory.
The Celtic Viking,
is your picture from EB 1.1? In what province? I ask because of the trees.
@General Appo:
To me it appears as if the guy is performing some kind of super jump charge (à la "300"), about to slash the poor Pontic in front of him :viking:
But your interpretation is acceptable too, of course:2thumbsup:

Battle of Ipsos 301 bc

a great historical battle by the way thanks a lot!! (take a look at my new signature banner :laugh4:)
Not bad, Lz3. BTW, are you using a widescreen computer or something? It seems your ratio is off - as though the game saved the image at 4:3 instead of 16:9. Try resizing your image. Instead of 831x622, make it 831x467. That should fix the skewing you have.
done :2thumbsup:
although I think I remember that I croped it a bit to the left before...emm who knows :sweatdrop:
Appo, I think we have a winner. Your's is simply gorgeous. Loving that centerm dude. I think with a bit of editing, that could look wonderful. (removing the banners and other witchcraft)
Yup, it's a pity you guys run withouth Anti-Aliasing, I think AA improves RTW battles VERY much, especiall those phalanx spears no longer have that awful "staircase effect"...:embarassed:
Yeah Appo's picture is awesome. I'd rename it to "King of the Hill", it gives the picture a much briter title (Guess who the King of the Hill is... :P)
Actually that´s not a bad idea. Done.
Senshi, I´ve tried using Fraps and such, but it was just too much work. Might try again though, when I get back from London (will be away for a week. Or two).
CR, I´m afraid I don´t have any good editing tools handy, and even if I did I wouldn´t know what to do with them. Pity really. I´d wish that the Roman banner was situated behind the hill instead, so you just saw the top. That would have been awesome. Especially if it had been right behind the "King".
When I get home and access to my tools, I'll see what I can do for it. Luckily the Roman Banner is on a bare patch of sky so it's just a case of moving it and colouring the space in.
The other guys's banners will be trickier though. Still, I'll see what I can do.
It's been a long time, so...

Btw, I recommend general camera with minimal_UI to everyone. Makes you appreciate the game more. Those are Atlas mountains on the horizon.
Fraps and too much work? :laugh4:
It's quite a "Install&forget"-feature for me, I have it autostart everytime I boot up (as it requires near to no resources in standby), just setup a key you never use and that's it.
Of course Fraps spits out large .bmp files (as making .jpgs directly would cause bigtime lag when you press the Screenshot-Button), but compressing it into .jpg afterwards is a quickie, IrfanView or one of the many other common image viewer programs comfortably support that.
EDIT: Submitting a picture of my own...
Shock and awe in Epidamnos

Well, artillery can be pretty inprecise...and flaming...but that's what happens when one doesn't think twice before daring to invade the Koinon Hellenon homelands, bringing the wrath of the Koinon army upon them...:boxing:
Love how busy the screen looks, all those poor levies running around scared, trying to regroup in the rear while a desperate cavalry charge stops my rushing troops near the wall, while on the bottom my orderly light infantry formations march forward
Meh, fraps doesn't work on my computer unless I wan't to log-off and play via my computers Admin account.
@Shenshi: usually I don't care much for "siege pics" because the RTW engine simply fails at rendering pretty buildings (by modern standards) or the angle of the shot is just lousy (what with most of the units & stuff obscured by limited 'angle of visibility'). However the titled bird's eye view perspective you choose really does work wonders here. :2thumbsup:
I completely second that, problem with siege pics is that one picture almost never manages to get all the cool atmosphere in place (for reasons you stated) and another big contra is that really everybody sees these scenarios dozens of time in his own campaign, as I dare to say more than 70% of battles are siege battles, and there really is not that much variety in city layouts...:juggle2:
I don't make any chance against Thaatu's and Appo's pics, but here is my submission.

Appo r thaatu..though choice when It's time to vote.
