Good Historical Sources on Camillan Romans
Hello,
EB is perhaps the only mod of the 270 B.C timeframe that depicts the earlier stages of the Roman Legion, that is, the "Camillan Military Era". Usually most mods and vanilla itself depict the Romans already in the Polybian stage by then.
I have a question: are there any good books or websites that mention "Camillan" troops in detail? Why aren't they so famous if according to EB they lasted up the mid 3rd century? Any source that the EB team originally used to make them is welcome.

You could have a go at reading Livy. Head over to Project Gutenberg, or, when I've finished editing what I've got, I'll send it to you. I'll PM you in he morning.

Thanks!
So does Livy portray them and their equipment in detail? Or is it like a more general or blurred view?
Also is any modern investigation or study available?

I was looking for more specific sources, like about their equipment. What kinds of swords did they use before the Gladius, for example.

I don't know any helpful sources but I think they used a Xiphos sword or similar.
