Dubliner Ronnie Drew dead at 73
Only a matter of time with his battles with cancer and the death of his wife, but founding Dubliner and Irish folk legend Ronnie Drew has died aged 73. A true Irish character, his voice had effectively gone since the 90s but nevertheless he will be sorely missed. He joins Luke and Ciaran as passing Dubs.
These videos best showcase his considerable talents:
Dublin in the Rare Auld Times
McAlpine's Fusiliers
Wecha Wailia
Seven Drunken Nights
Finnegan's Wake
Re: Dubliner Ronnie Drew dead at 73
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
May the rain fall soft upon your fields
Until we meet again
May God hold you
In the hollow of his hand
