Siblings

How many siblings do you have? I had the feeling this could be an interesting discussion. The poll is private, by the way...and yours truly is an only child. :laugh4:

I have a "half-sister" which means we share one parent. (our father.)

I counted her as "one" since to me, she's my sister...

So, we were conversing with an apparently very smart cousin-once-removed and he needed to ask if I was the eldest of the brethren. I replied "There's an eldest, a youngest and no more!". After taking a brief time to digest that he returned:

Myself, I'm the oldest of three kids. My brother is 27 and my sister is 25.

Only one with myself being the younger, my brother is eight years older.

One younger brother.

4 bros. i'm the youngest, and most beautiful.

One sister two years younger, one 10 year older brother and two even older sisters. Four in total.

Being a middle child sucks.

Although all we share seems to be our skin colour. You wouldn't believe we are brothers if you saw us.

I have a brother 8 years younger than me and he is nearly a foot taller (ok .. 10cm).

I am a middle sibling. Two older sisters and a younger sister and brother.

I said none but i do have 2 half sisters, but i don't live with them and haven't seen the one for years and never seen the other, so for all intents and purposes i am an only child....

Older sister and younger brother and I'm taller than both so I'm 'Big Brother.' It is sad to grow older and know that merely being three years old than your brother no longer guarantees winning in wrestling.

I have 3, two older brothers and a younger sister.

Oldest: 7 years older
Second Oldest: would be 4 years older. He died at age 3.

My mother has an elder brother, to younger sisters and two younger brothers, the youngest having passed away 12 years ago, who was more of a big bro to me and a son to mom. :shame: My maternal grandfather's elder brother had also two sons and six daughters. That's the peasantry side...

My father had (2 - 1) + 1 younger brothers. (One died at the age of 2 and the youngest was born later.) My elder uncle passed away 14 years ago, of the big C. My grandfather had one older and one younger sisters and a younger brother. My grandmother had three brothers, older and younger.

So, it seems about 4 was the norm for citizens and 6 for the more agrarian.

Hehe, the way some of us have turned out :7clown: I believe she would say that is an accurate assessment.

My older brother, by 10 years, was adopted. Then there was me, and three younger sisters, the baby of the family is 9 years younger than I.

My paternal Grandfather had 13 surviving siblings in his family, early 1900's. So not a clown car...more like a two-decker bus.:7clown::7clown::7clown::7clown::7clown:
