Free Wi-fi access in the UK ?
Hey, people, I need some info about the UK...
In two weeks time, I'll be going on a work trip to the UK for 3-weeks both in Maidstone, Kent and London.
I plan to take my laptop with me (to get online with the wife and kids... and check the forums ) but I'll need some free Wi-Fi access.
Some quick search allowed me to find that most McDonald's offer free wi-fi access and that the City of London Corp. offers free internet access through The Cloud for one month (more than ample time for me), though I'll reside a bit too far away.
Could anyone point me to some nice and easy (and free) solution ?

Hmm I'm not aware of any free Wi-Fi outside of that which you get from McD, Starbucks and some pubs (and of course people who dont secure their networks).

OK, I'll make do with McDos then...
Supersize me !! :beam:
Re: Free Wi-fi access in the UK ?
I personally am with BT Broadband and so get 250 min per month of their FON service free. You have to buy some sort of router thing though if you're not with them though, which is a bit of a flaw. Not sure about the ins and outs of that though, so I may just be being pre-judgemental.
I think but don't quote me on this one, that Stagecoach offer some form of Wi-Fi or another on their buses. I was messing about with my laptop in the taxi from the train station and, as we went past a bus, I noticed an unsecured Wi-Fi signal called "stage-coach bus". I have no idea if they operate in inner London though, or if indeed it was even an internet point.
