Place The Person Above You
An interesting game, I thought, would be to say where you think the person is above you on the political spectrum/which party they support - without looking at the political profile thread. I thought it would make for a rather interesting discussion, because naturally people will have different viewpoints about the political beliefs of others. Naturally, this is in the Backroom because of the political connotations.
A normal post could look like this (not that there's any set format or anything).
Post #1: The person above is a communist.
Post #2: The person above is centre-right.
Post #3: The person above is a liberal.
Let the games begin.

Re: Place The Person Above You
EMFM is a centrist, somewhat-authoritarian traditionalist ~;)
Or simply centre right.
-
Re: Place The Person Above You
Fenring is left wing by USA standards but rather on the center
-
Re: Place The Person Above You
Strike is a conservative with many libertarian values
(Bonus Points if you can guess mine. I think I've changed political views about 1000 times within the year)

Kush' favours a pragmatic approach to economic issues and is somewhat conservative on most other things.
(okay, I'll leave it to the rest from now on)
-
Re: Place The Person Above You
Fenring is a centrist, believing in capitalist values but acknowledging the need for regulation.

Re: Place The Person Above You
Evil_Maniac From Mars is a euro-rightist (putting him far right of US Repub's). He sees the value of democracy, and doesn't mind imposing it on the population, for their own good.
If he could find a benevolent but absolute monarch who would allow and follow the people's vote - held often - that would be his favorite gov't.

Kukri is a ..... San Diego if I'm recalling correctly... conservative. Probably quietly voted for Bush twice, but that's just a guess. ;)
For the record: Nader in 2000, Peltier in 2004. I've never picked a winner :) ~Kukri

Re: Place The Person Above You
EMFM is a conservative, monarchist, eurosceptic, authoritarian democrat. I think that pretty much covers everything.
-
Re: Place The Person Above You
King Henry is a conservative who rather dislikes socialists, especially when they're French ~;)
-
Re: Place The Person Above You
Fenring is a left-leaning centrist.

Au contraire, mon cher, I wouldn't say I dislike socialists, I just find some of them rather dull in their self-righteousness, and in my opinion, dullness is a capital sin.
To elaborate on the honourable member Strike's prognostications, I would say that Fenring is a social-democrat.
Oh dear, it seems I was a bit slow on the uptake. I would hazard that makaikhaan is some sort of libertarian.

This one is way too easy, all you have to do is read the title under his name. :) A... hmm.... moderate Zionist, too. :)

That's the main point of being a leftist ;)
Rhyfelwyr is a conservative, though - if I remember correctly - he leans toward the left on a few specific issues.

Re: Place The Person Above You
Menildil is a moderate in France, leftist everywhere else. ~;)

Re: Place The Person Above You
SwedishFish is generally a leftie who usually posts one-sentence sarcastic comments in the Election thread, but nevertheless does not disparage the American military in any way.
-
Re: Place The Person Above You
This ones pretty tricky... i would call GH fairly centerist in euro terms...
-
Re: Place The Person Above You
Considering Grizzy's two sig quotes, I'd put him slightly to the left of the mainstream in Europe, which means well within the left end of the spectrum in the US.
-
Re: Place The Person Above You
GH is by US standards left leaning which would make him European centerist I believe.
