I am 1/4 Jewish, not religious though.
My mother is Jewish, but I'm not. So I suppose I am, technically speaking, a Jew.

Judaism is confusing that way. In one respect it's a religion, in another way it's an ethnicity. Both are valid, and they can be exclusive of each other. (In other words, you can be a convert to Judaism and not be an ethnic Jew, or you can be an ethnic Jew and not be "practicing.")
SwedishFish, I know you're kidding, but let's not go there, okay? Jews come in all shapes and sizes. It's a strange ethnicity that way.

So that this thread doesn't die, I have to say the thing I admire most about the Jewish fatih is Shabbat. It has a great sense of community and friendship about it and is a great way to bring your family together.
