My method for getting MTW to work... finally.
1. Purchase high spec machine (2.8ghz CPU, 2g RAM, NVIDIA 8XXX 1g video card, 500g hard-drive)
2. Trawl multiple messageboards for CTD fixes.
3. Apply Petey's button file fix.
4. Trawl multiple messageboards for battlefield mouse pointer bug fixes.
5. Fail to find one.
6. Attempt to work around shocking battlefield controls.
7. Fail to do so.
8. Write to NVIDIA tech support multiple times.
9. Scream in anger. Tear hair out. Weep. Prepare suicide notes to loved ones.
10. Purchase low spec machine specifically for MTW (1.5 ghz CPU, 250mb RAM, NON-Nvidia graphics card, 60g hard-drive)
11. Ponder the fact that you've just spent $150AUD on a game from 2002.
12. Shrug and unleash jihad.

Yes, that sounds about right...

ALL HAIL ATI! I'm sooo glad I purchased a setup with an ATI card, runs MTW like a charm. :smitten:

I wonder if it's possible to run MTW in a win95/98 virtual machine with MS Virtual PC 2007? Just a thought for those who have ultra powerful setups and miss the old classics (for the really old classics we have DOSBox).

Such dedication
I often consider the fact that going to the cinema costs $10-15 and gives me 1,5-2 hours fun, whereas MTW cost me $40 (purchased it twice at $20, first disc broke from overuse) and has so far given me countless hours of fun. Yeah - you have to buy some hardware too, but overall, I think I have some pretty cheap entertainment.

Alternatively, you can improvise on the battlefield, for a few tweaks to the GroupFormations.txt, the realisation that the radar map works a treat, and inventive use of belaying orders/modifying orders for different combinations of troops while pausing the game actually works a treat. That's how I do it, anyway. :beam:
