Hey All,
Anyone have any idea about ETW's System Requirements? I hope 1 Gig of RAM will run it.... :wall:
System requirements only climb. 1 gig is borderline effective these days.
The real question isn’t, IMO at least, what sort of rig will let the game run, but what will be needed to make it run smoothly in all situations. I suspect that we will need a tremendous setup.
So far, CA has been keeping pretty quiet about what kind of system can run Empire. They did say something to the effect that it should run reasonably well on average machines, but I've not seen any more specific information than that.
I would *think* that 1 Gig of RAM would be enough, but it's probably best not to quote me on that just yet. ~;)
I am counting on needing to make major upgrades or even a new system. I could run M2TW at close to max at an acceptable rate, but I expect to need more juice for ETW. I will definately need a new Vid card at the absolute minimum. CPU is also getting a bit weak.
yeah, I'm gonna order me a good computer tomorrow(my old one needs replacing) that will definitely be good enough for ETW
I bought a rockin laptop for both Empire and other games. Ah'm rrrready!
Yep, I took one look at ETW, and decided that I've been needing a computer overhaul for awhile now, I guess ETW is just the kind of motivation I need to get off my :daisy: and upgrade my computer. AT the least I'm going to need more ram and a new processor, at least my graphics card is great.
I'm hoping that 2.8 GHZ and 1 Gig Of Ram will help me, plus 6MB Cable Internet for MP and a 256MB Video Card I got :clown:
One more gig of ram wouldn't hurt...
Given that I will invest in a new system this spring I guess I will be ready :)
1 Gig seems on the very low end.
The way they are holding back the game so they can optimize it's performance, and get rid of the rough ends, makes me think that the specifications needed would be no more than M2TW. They said that they wanted the game to run smoothly on lower end and average machines. They also said that having a top notch gaming computer would ofcourse give spectacular results.
Anyway, somehow, I can't help feeling optimistic, that this might be the game where everything is as perfect as it can get in this age of the world :clown:
Fingers crossed.
I suppose? Lol, I have 4 gigs. :wiseguy:
Anyone think 3 gigs, a dual core AMD 3.0, and an 8400 GS will be enough?
Plenty. ~:)
I've got a stripped down OS, but only 1 gig. Oblivion runs at max, M2TW runs at max, I figure Empire will at least run good.
I have 356 MB of RAM. Am I awesome or what? :D
My knackered old piece of junk manages to run MTWII maxed out quite beautifully.
I really don't know how though.
AMD 3200+ 64 bit processor, 1.5gb RAM, and at the time an ATI x800 graphics card. Since upgraded to an x1950. According to the laws of physics, my computer should spontaneously combust after approximately 27 minutes of game time.
And yet with the right tweaking, it plays Crysis on high...peculiar...
Athlon 64 3700+, Nivida I don´t know card with 256 MB, 2 Gigs of Ram?!?!? Will it run smoothly? What do people in the know think?
Just outta curiosity...I am still busy playing EB and BC (a lot faster & nicer) thanks to new gigs.....
If you can find out specifically what kind of card, that would be helpful. However, the rest sounds fine. Nice choice on buying a 64-bit 3000 series by the way. Those things are hella good.
Apparently my 3200+ has a clock speed of 2.01GHz, but on account of it being 64-bit, it's more like 3GHz.
Well don't quote me on this but i'm almost sure I heard a dev say something like, if you can run mtw2 you can run empire.
Now what does this mean? I don't really know.
I'd assume this means you can play the campaign just fine, have battles just fine, and enjoy decent graphics. If you look closely you'll notice it is indeed the same engine as MTW2 so if you could get high details on that, you can get high details on this.
However as there are more animations, ai, and stuff, I'd think the question will come to unit count.
How many units can I battle with and see them awesome?
I'd say if you could run mtw2 good, probably 2k v 2k is good, 4k v 4k your limit.
If you have dual core and 2 gigs you can probably go to max.
1.5 I don't know, depends on where you buy your memory from. I mean there are diferent qualities of memory.
My advice is go to www.systemrequirementslab.com
Test your pc.
Forget whatever you bought, got sold, or made, test it. That site will show what it actually will be rated at as some things outperform (or under perform) depending on who made them.
New comp will have Core 2 Duo Extreme 2.8GHZ, 4GB RAM, 512 video card 8800GTX, probably try to do SLI.
Should be plentiful room to run on MAX. :beam:
I hope I can play empire on max with my new computer which I'll get next friday(Core2Quad Q8200, Asus EAH4850 and 4 gigs of RAM :cheerleader:)
I've recently got a new graphics card which is the maximum my PC can get to without having
to replace it, but it was made in 2004 so it's not all that gr8 at all. But there r thoughts of
getting a new one around Christmas. Apparently Empire will be more compatible even for it's
graphics so it's likely that if you can work MIITW then you should be able to work Empire, though
likely with some more lag.
Since every1 is saying their system specs I might as well tell a quick bit.
Dell XP Pentium 4 CPU, 2.8GHz & 1.5GB of RAM
Ahhh the folly of youth, getting up when one pleases, heading out on a Saturday morning, buying truckloads of PC parts, connecting them all together, switching on, blowing the whole lot up and going back out again to do the very same all over again. Happy days.
:medievalcheers:
True say... Seriously though CA get crackin on tellin us what kind of system we need. This hunk of junk hardly runs RTW so i need to know now so I can build it.
