Installing and patching a "Gold Version"

I bought a "Gold Version" of the game, must be the Warlords Edition. I installed it, language english and wanted to run the patch (1.02 beta, found it around here). It works, essentially, and there are some changes (noticeable only that a date was added to the saved games), but it still says version "1.00" on the upper left corner on the starting screen. Is this normal?

If you have the Gold/Warlords Edition, then you don't need the 1.02 patch. And yes, it will say "version 1.00". :yes:

I already thought that a patch wouldn't be necessary, but it actually changed something, so much the better. :D

By the way, will the "version" I have now be multiplayer compatible?

Heh, not so much anymore, no. However, the fact that we do still get new players from time to time is a testament to Shogun's awesomeness. :2thumbsup:

It should be compatible with other people who have the Warlords/Gold Edition, yes.

This is truly the best Total War game there ever has been and quite possibly in the running for the best game ever... :sweatdrop:

Still haven't found a better one. Halo on Xbox would be my second at this point, yet on a distance.

I liked MTW a lot and because of my interest in Japan and Japanese I thought that Shogun must be perfect for me. Indeed, the game is somewhat more simple but great. Anyway, one of the best things in the game are the Japanese sequences. Still I need the subtitles :book: .

I have a question. I just bought a downloadable version of Shogun Gold edition from GameStop. During my process of trying to install the game. It keeps telling me it must install eng.001. Does any one know how i can install it? I run windows vista on a laptop. It does try to download it but it stops halfway and hasnt moved in like 30 minutes. Nothing is wrong with my connection. can any one explain what is going on?

Sorry we didn't notice your post earlier. The Gold edition should be patched, but I've no experience with that version myself. What does your game do when you select another langua in your setting, like Japanese speech?
