Anyways, lets get to the point of this tread:sweatdrop:.
Chapter 1: An Introduction!
Once, the Greek city states ruled in Greece, they were divided yet were in power. However Phillip the second of Makedonia has changed that, he united Greece under the Makedonian banner, defeating Athens and Thebes in the battle of Chaoronea in which the Theban sacred band fought to the death. After his assasination by the Persians Thebes revolted, then Alexandros, the heir of Phillip burned Thebes down to the ground! The Makedonians will pay for this deed, we swear by the gods. Since then the power of the Greek city states diminished, yet we kept wishing for our former glory and power to be returned. Greece will be free from Makedonian rule once again, freedom is near!
The Koinon Hellenon has formed, it united the great poleis of Sparte, Athenai and Rhodes. They formed a union, wishing to destroy Makedon. Their power though isn't as big as the power each of them had individually. However, united they will liberate Greece from the Makedonian tyranny.
Sparte, it resisted Makedonian supremacy for decades. However much of its former power is lost, once it had a number of 8000 Homoioi, now it just has a merely 700. However, they are still a power to look out for. And Sparte was assigned the Hegemon of the Koinon Hellenon.
Sparte, it had unlike many other cities 2 kings. Of two royal branches. The Agiad branch, often seen as the most superior one, home to Leonidas who died heroicly at the hot gates of Thermopylae. And you had the Euripontid line, often seen as inferior. Yet they were both made up by the ancestors of Heracles himself!
The current Agiad king, Areus is in Crete, recruiting Cretan mercenaries, and preparing an army to free the Peloponessos of Makedonian rule.

And meanwhile in Sparte herself, Areus's son and rightfull heir to the Agiad line Akratos was residing. Also, the king of the Eurypontid line, Eudamidas is also residing in Sparte, always leaving one king in Sparte while the other was on campaign.

Athenai, once Spartas greatest rival, now her greatest ally. Athenai is reknown for its democracy, and it is a flourashing city. Just as Sparte it longed for her former glory again. And it doesn't look good for the Athenians, the Makedonian king, Antigonos has invaded Attica with a great army hoping to crush the Koinon Hellenon.

The Athenian force isn’t a big one, however the city can hold out until help from Sparte and Rhodos arrives. The general of the Athenian army is Chremonides. He was also the main creator of the Koinen Hellenon, without him this alliance wouldn’t be.

Rhodos, a very prosperous poleis. Their Colossus is a great symbol of the anti Makedon movement under the Greek poleis, being made out of Makedonian siege equipment which was left after failure to take the city.
The most important man in Rhodes is Agathokles, he is the leader of Rhodes and its army.

The Makedonian force is dangerous indeed, however the gods has favoured us by giving the Makedonians another enemy, the Epeirots. Pyrrhus the king of the Epeirots after his failure in the west against the Romans has invaded the Makedonian heartland and endangers the survival of Makedonia. He could proove a valuable ally against the Makedonians indeed.
What will Antigonos his next move be, being attacked from both the south and north?

Chapter 2: First Blood!
Meanwhile, in Crete Areus after hiring some Cretan mercenaries sets sail to Lakonia to gather the Spartan forces.
The fleet of the Koinen Hellenon consists of 78 Pentekonteroi, boats once used by our forefathers, now just mere ships for transport of our troops across the Aegean.

Meanwhile in Athens however, the elite Athenian Hoplites, the Epileptikoi Hoplites are reequipped with the finest armour that Athenai has to offer. In order to prepare themselves for the coming battle with the Makedonians.

In the heartland of Makedonia, the Athenian diplomat Odysseus Kalabrios is able to negotiate with Pyrrhus, the king of the Epeirots. Trade rights and an alliance are established. Odysseus now turns east, hoping to create a ceasefire with the Seleucids.

After dropping the Spartan army and Areus of in Lakonia the Koinen Hellenon navy sets sail for Rhodos. Upon arriving in the beautiful city they are greeted by the Colossus. A part of the Rhodian army then enter the ships, they will sail west to support Athenai.

Upon arriving in Sparte, it is decided by the Ephors that Areus and his son along with the army will be sent to Korinthos to liberate it from the Makedonians.

The next month good news reaches our ears, Antigonos the king of the Makedonians retreats from Attika and marches north to stop Pyrrhus.

And there is more good news, the army sent from Rhodos has arrived. However a Makedonian army from occupied Chalkis has invaded Attika.

Chremonides decides to act now, instead of waiting for the army of Rhodos to arrive he marches out of Athenai to meet the Makedonian commander Aristonos head on in battle.
The Athenian army numbered 2700 and the Makedonian army numbered 3030.

In the Makedonian army there was a unit of levy Phalangites. The Athenians remember very well how they along with the Hetairoi leaded by Alexander destroyed much of their power at Chaeronea.

The battle started with a short missile duel between our Spendonai and their Toxotai, in which our slingers were clearly winning.

After the missile duel our army advanced, only to be met by Makedonian Akontistai.

Then their Phalanx advanced, the Makedonian Phalanx looked menacing indeed.

Then the two Phalanxes clashed, it turned into quite a mess in the forest.

Their Phalanx was holding however that soon changed as our light left flank enveloped their right flank.

Under the pressure of the Hoplite Phalanx their Levy Phalangites soon ran for their lives.

Their Peltasts then made a last foolish charge against our Hoplite Phalanx, they soon ran for their lives as well.

The battle was won!
The Athenians lost 540 men with 2240 remaining.
The Makedonians lost 2210 men with 820 remaining.

Ok guys, I haven't updated this in a while, and there are 2 reasons for that. I lost RTW and everything along with it, though thats not such a big problem as I can easilly go back to this point. And I'm currently in a Beta team of a mod.
So this AAR isn't dead, its currently non active. It will be updated again when that mod releases(and maybe earlier, we have to see). :sweatdrop:
