Authority: What does it really do ?

I am wondering if anyone has put research into Authority.

I'm asking because I am playing a lot of Stainless Steel 6.0 these days, and for some reason I have never seen one of those loyalty 0 generals rebel.

I have had stacks of units disappear with just a captain, but no rebelling nobles.

And this seemed to be not related to the Authority of the Ruler ... at least that was my observation...

So, is there anyone who has done some serious research into the 'hardcoded' (as far as I could see) effects of Command, Chivalry, Dread, Authority and Piety ?

I have been searching but came up only with a little information.
