Cutting stacks in half?

I realized that I usually lose interest in a campaign after both me and the AI are able to field full stack after full stack of heavy infantry/cavalry and elites. At that point battles lose any appeal for me as it all boils down to moving your battle line and crashing it into an enemy battle line, then waiting to see the outcome. Battle maps are too small to allow enough space for maneuver when there are full stacks involved at both sides. So, is there any way to cut the full stack army from let's say 18 units (don't remember what is it now) to 9 units?

Or make the units smaller? (Video options > unit size)

I would suggest the same, its alot of fun to put the unit details as high as you can and set the unit scale to small, it makes it more challenging and sometimes on a small scale 3 or four gaesatae can really wreak havoc.....:evilgrin:
