What are you going to name your ships?

Got a few names lined up for ships. Props if you know where they're from.

*Always to the same type of ship, in the same fleet, next to eachother in the line.

Not exactly the most traditional names but I want them to have a bit of personality. Plus I think in the real world the enemy would be a bit more scared of HMS Kiss My Fluffy Pink Bunny than HMS Queen Elizabeth II.

Never really thought of that. Never really been into the gee gees after seeing my grandad slowly waste my inheritence away.

My other plan was to name them after the robots on Robot Wars but having HMS Wheely Big Cheese just seems even more silly.

That Robot Wars plan is pure genius! Who wouldn't be terrified of a fleet with Sir Killalot or Matilda in it? I know I would :laugh4:.

What about the most famous of them all, The Sleeper Service?

edit: (though I see you've got it already, at least in nickname form...)

I thought Sleeper Service wasn't as good as Quietly Confident. Neither are great but you have to have Sleeper Service in somehow.

There's so many on the wikipedia page I don''t think I'll ever be short on names.

I'll definately have an H.M.S Beane, H.M.S Martok and H.M.S Nelson.

HMS Next Time I'm Getting Insurance.

I'm going to try a little bit of roleplaying to be honest.

While a Monarchy, HMS etc.

When I get rid of the monarchy, its going to be something like SR Independence etc.. SR standing for Ship of the Republic or something :2thumbsup:

Though, I will look forward to the H.M.S's ships being named after characters from Monty Python, such as from Life of Brian: "H.M.S Nobius Maximus"


Shame you can't designs on the sails. Would put the gimp mask wearing guy for example, in the above post as a symbol of terror and fear.
