So, how do "protectorates" work anyway?
So, how do "protectorates" work anyway?
If I am France, and I attack one of the thirteen colonies, am I at war with "thirteen colonies" or Britain?
As Britain, can I control the armies of "thirteen colonies" or build things in their cities/towns? Or France control "Louisiana"?
Why isn't this explained in the manual, anyway?? Jeeesh....
Re: So, how do "protectorates" work anyway?
Protectorates are separate factions, but with very close ties to their protectee.
Diplomatically speaking, they are an alliance with military rights. So yes, you would declare war with Britain as well.
However, they are still independant, and you won't be able to tell them what to do.
Re: So, how do "protectorates" work anyway?
Sounds like the worst of both worlds...they can get you into a war but you can't tell them what to do!
Re: So, how do "protectorates" work anyway?
Well, that's the same with all alliances.
Re: So, how do "protectorates" work anyway?
basically an alliance, quite possibly they give a portion of their income to their protector as well.
Re: So, how do "protectorates" work anyway?
Protectorates give their 'parent' faction 50% of their income or somesuch.
Re: So, how do "protectorates" work anyway?
In earlier games, any money over a certain point was given to the protector. In ETW, I havent seen any evidence of that (I have 3 protectorates) basically you gain vision of what they see, and they live to serve you. They will fight if you ask, and if they can.
