National Capital of Prussia
Sort of curious about this. I'm playing Prussia this time round and I'm wondering why Konigsberg is bigger and better fortified than Berlin. So... which one is the capital? Is there a gameplay/historical reason for this or is it just a messed up descr_strat file?
Re: National Capital of Prussia
Brandenburg is the center of power for Prussia, so they have no real need for super-fortifications. Its like the Spartans.
Koenigsberg (Which now has been completely destroyed) used to be a little kingdom constantly duking it out, and needs them.
Re: National Capital of Prussia
Konigsberg is bigger too. Berlin is smaller than all the other major capitals (except Denmark's).
Re: National Capital of Prussia
Hmm... that doesn't make much sense....
Have you been recruiting a whole lot from the area?
Re: National Capital of Prussia
It makes sense historically, Königsberg was a rich trading city at the baltic and capital of the rich and fertile province of East-Prussia. Up to the 18th century, Berlin was nothing but a small garisson town. Potsdam was the royal centre of power. Brandenburg itself was underpopulated at the time, that's why Prussian kings started population programms and invited settlers - mainly French protestants that where persecuted in their homeland.

Re: National Capital of Prussia
Perhaps it is something to do with the fact that the Campaign wants you to capture a certain amount of regions, in the short campaign anyway, which makes Berlin central, look at my campaign.

or perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Berlin was the capital of Prussia
Re: National Capital of Prussia
Every major faction seems to have a national capital that has 5 build slots (not including walls). All other cities are either 4 build slots or just the governor's mansion. But with Prussia you get Berlin with only 4 build slots and Konigsberg with 5. Which makes me wonder if there's been a messup in the descr_strat file for Prussia. Even the 13 Colonies have Philadelphia with 5 build slots.
Note that Berlin does make more money and has more people than Konigsberg. East Prussia is a rather buggy place. The game freezes when I click on the general there, plus gentlemen spawn in Konigsberg even though all the colleges and observatories are in Berlin.
