Revolts: Possible to go -to- a const. monarchy?

I felt a little bit bad decapitating my harmless Prussian monarch just because I was bored. That much moreso when I found I was saddled with a 2 star president for the next 8 (or is it 16?) years.

I was thinking of the Prussian constitutional crises and basically just wanted a constitutional monarchy with the Hohenzollern, which I guess game mechanics would probably preclude even if you could revolt to (rather than from) a constitutional monarchy. Still, monarch-replacement aside, can you get to a constitutional monarchy somehow?

If you have a republic and the upper class revolts you should get a constitutional monarchy IIRC.

So how do you get to Autocratic Monarch?

Probably depends how long he lives.

Eh, it's kind of tedious trying to get a revolution... Maybe I'll try tommorow to irritate my Republic's upper class, although absolutism->Republic->Const monarchy is a little bit troublesome considering that absolutism->constitutionalism and back is pretty usual, especially in German states.

I'm not sure you can. Once you get a republic you have that pesky constitution which apparently is pretty hard to get rid of. :beam:

The 3 forms of govt are Republic, Monarchy and Const Monararchy.

The hardest to get is Const, because the upperclass I believe has to rebel while you are in a Monarchy, and generally the upperclass won't because the upperclass are much harder to make rebel then lower class. For whatever reason outrageous taxes on noble class barely affects them, but slight increases in lower classes has drastic affects.

Just some thoughts.

What if a foreign country invades, a la post-Napoleonic France?

I played GB and wanted to have a republic. So I set the taxes to ultra for both classes. The upper class rebelled and now I have an absolute monarchy :oops: instead of a republic.

So maybe changing government works as follows:

Constitutional monarchy: If the lower classes rebel you will get a republic and a rebellion from the upper classes will get you an absolute monarchy.

Absolute monarchy: lower class rebellion = republic ? and upper = constitutional monarchy ?

Republic: I have no idea.

I hope that someone has the patience to investigate this further.
