DLC Scenario Battles? Ideas?

In the past Total War Games I was always pleased to see a good chunk of historical battles present, each of which, seemed present it's own tactical challenge.

I was slightly dissapointed at the fact that the full game only included 1 other battle (a naval battle, at that) along with the first two that we already had the chance to play in the demo. Although, it hasn't got me too worked up because of the many other forms of content ETW has to offer.

I'm simply speculating on that fact if/if not CA plans to release any more historical battles.

Any ideas for them? I can think of a few:

Battle of Carillon (1758, French & Indian War)

Battle of Blenheim (1704, War of the Spanish Succession)

-although technically within ETW's timeframe, it seems the uniforms of the period would not be consistent with some of the models ETW has to offer. It would also have to be scaled down a lot seeing as the actual battle involved over 100,000 men and guns.

Battle of Long Island (1776, American Revolution)

-largest battle of the American revolution.

-Battle of Kagul (1770, Russo-Turkish War)

-This is one of the largest battles of the 18th century. Fought in a single day. Russians pulled through against the overwhelming numbers brought out by the Ottoman Empire. Would definetely need to be scaled down. (Russians had around 38,000 men, Turks 150,000).

Battle of Copenhagen

Battle of Vitoria

Battle of Trafalgar


And obviously


Battle of Waterloo

If I'm correct, I believe the ETW time period goes only from 1700-1799. All the battles you posted were either 1690 or Early 1800s. I think Copenhagen could be an exception since it's only really 2 years off.

Battle of Narva

Those battle are huge. Just unplayable in TW engine, and certainly strange.

The battle of Hastings was on Medieval and Medieval 2 despite not being within the timeline.


And actually, 1700-1799 is only the timeline of the Grand campaign. If you count RTI, the game covers 1607-1820 (or thereabouts), putting them all firmly within the timeframe.

In addition to the Battle of Long Island, other good Revolutionary War battles would be:

- Saratoga (most consequential battle of the war, and good use of guerrilla tactics)
- Monmouth (Washington fought the Brits to a draw in one of the first opportunities for his soldiers to demonstrate the benefit of Baron von Steuben's training)
- Cowpens (one of the most innovative uses of tactics in the war - Morgan baiting the Brits with a feigned militia retreat and setting up in an area where terrain would prevent British flanking maneuvers)
