That Creeping Darkness (Pre Sign-Ups)

This is for the game of "That Creeping Darkness", a large game I plan to host.

It has come to my attention I will most likely not achieve the numbers I want for it, so I will be moving it to the TWC. However, the series was hosted here first, and the Org members should not only have the chance to play, but also to keep it here - thus, this will be basically a list of players that are either willing to come play over at the TWC or the list of players (if there is enough) that will be playing it here.

Sign up in the normal way, and if you will have any issues, please post them so I can take them into account. If you want, I can provide (although I will have to ask for it, since I lost my copy ~:mecry:) a summary so you can recruit (No using Wanax powers however RR :brood:~;p) if you want.

I'll hate to bow out any sequels to a game I have played, so I will have to join no matter where it is played. However don't expect much activity from me for the first week or so, unfortunately my attention has to be diverted elsewhere.

btw can I keep my character from Whisper seeing that I'm the sole survivor of the game?

Because he would depend on ingame chances to come back at all, he has to be alive to become the Da- :luagh4:, nice :brood:.

Are you in or not WE? Oh, as an aside, vanilla roles in this game mean nothing - anyone can, and most likely will, gain an ability or full at one point or another, but at the expense of another player of course :evilgrin:

But lying has almost no effect in yours games:brood:.....I have been a crappy townie for most of your games....:brood:.....it toke Godfather 3 to show everyone how good I can be as Mafia:grin2: and Reenk was superman or master villein in most of your games.....:inquisitive: Does Random.Org hate me or something?:wall:

My basic goal is to create a hard, thought provoking game that requires/opens the door to creative solutions for winning. You fit that bill, but Random simply doesn't want to give it to you. It's all random, but in That Creeping Darkness, starting roles don't mean much, it's what you become that matters.

I have to go now, appointments to keep - will be back tomorrow, promise. See if you can't find enough people to play here or there :bow:

And before it happens, Reenk, it is UP TO RANDOM.ORG whether or not you get Yeqon again :brood::laugh4:

Yeesh, tempted to make this a psuedo mafia game/RPG...again, that can be put to a vote, if Andres will allow it.

Answer these questions.....
1) Why did it seem like Quintus's role was overpowered?
2) Why did most of my efforts go to waste, when I successfully lured Andres into my trap last game?
3) When I was a Mafia ghost....because I was a "townie" I had no way to power up and kill anyone....even though, without it I still had a bigger impact then most of the other roles.....:shame:
4) Reenk and Quintus in both your games got what I would call..."Win them all roles"...meaning no matter how things went....they still win.....:sweatdrop:
5) anyway to correct any of these problems??:book:

Yes, indeed I had a very lovely role, I can't argue otherwise. But I don't think (I can't find YLC's original PM) that I actually started with any special ability, except knowing that Sigurd is my sister and she will protect me. Actually the longer I survived in the game the bigger my ability got. Reenk's role is neat too, but I personally would of prefered Glyphz's role though. :yes:

1) Quintus's role had similar function to Reenk's role really, except Reenk could eventually control more votes, I don't see how that's overpowered at all. Second, to control a vote implies mafia like behavior or status, thus it was designed to limit trust of Quintus's protown status, however, you never played that card.
2) You were simply lying in the wrong direction, or wrong way. See above.
3) You were meant to eventually control how the Ghosts voted, to the point that they were in essence a mafia entity, designed to find and destroy hidden protown defenses.
4) Quintus was a normal townie in Dark Vacuum, so no, and Reenk was lucky.
5) I don't really see problems other then that you didn't see how special your role was ~;p

You told us all in a PM, QUINTUS was the only one we could trust and contact with anyone else would be breaking the rules....:brood: (I played that card but nobody listened......:sweatdrop:)

Edit: "Lucky roles"......I feel they should get nerfed....or lose power, as time goes on....it is just not fair to others~:mecry:
Anyways, I feel very bad for normal townie's on your games.....they never can become powerful.....only the roles that are already powerful are....:shame:

White Eyes, I really can't help with your disappointment in not getting an ability, but townies can easily be as powerful - they have numbers and the ability to work together, and all power roles are the same during the day.

If you want a night action, here's one - you can send the GM threatening letters ~;p

Well....if you notice, I helped create discussion in your games...long after I was dead(even after the first one:grin2:) Both games, I was lynched in the first round by Mafia's and Pro-town's.....:sweatdrop:
but I had no idea who to trust and simply was lynched(not your fault:yes:).....but one feels unrewarded when one puts up such a struggle, even after the townie did so much.....but had no ability's to back it up...just lies....I am good at that....but someone, sometime is gonna call my bluff and I well be :skull::skull::skull::skull:

There has been quite a number of players that's made their name as superb mafias, but only very, very few people have made their fame as brilliant townies. Townies deserve more recongnition for pinnning the mafia than for a mafia to win a game. I never had the pleasure to know the man, but all the Gameroon vets seems to know Kommondus, who was in fact one of the greatest mafia hunter ever to grace the guild.

Townie deserve a lot of respect. :yes:

Kommodus, and yes, good townies deserve recognition.

Someday, I hope to be that good. I regret that I cannot commit at the present moment, I'm in far too many games both hosted and played. But, when that cools down, we shall see.

Well if you need players I will play:bow:.....but I well not be as driven as I was for Godfather 3 likely.....(Loved that Beefy chose me as his grunt....he knows how dangrous I can be with a role that kills...:evil:)

Well the queue is called "Mafia Hosting Queue".

If your game has plenty of roles, no informed minority vs. uninformed majority and no real day/night phases with voting and lynching, then it no longer qualifies as mafia...

Too often people think the Gameroom is only about mafia, but other games are welcome as well. In all honesty, I'm a bit surprised that during those 2,5 years the Gameroom exists, nobody hosted a real RPG, well, maybe with the exception of The Castle and The Castle II by Killfr3nzy and TwilightBlade.

I would join the game normally, but I am in 3 games (+1 starting soon) already... so...er... maybe not.

I still hope this game can be a true continuation of the previous game, lets leave RPG to other starting games. Sequels keep the scent of the original.
