Recently my computer was having lag on all directX apps. I have a common routine for if the computer starts overheating a lot (which it also did). And that routine is dusting it's innards. No. Really. It made all my games work without lag and an Empire naval battle (at full graphics settings) with gale winds and a rain storm worked almost free of lag. Just wanted to say this and if your CPU's overheating, vacuuming it's insides should help.
I thought I was the only lunatic that put a vaccumm to my computer.:laugh4:

Blow it out. Compressed air works well. Vaccuum on reverse is better than sucking.
Compressed air would be safer.
You couldn't pay me to shove a vacuum cleaner into my machine.
Get some compressed air. Much more fun although seeing how dirty everything is can be a bit of a surprise.
I'll bear that in mind, but this seems to work and I havent sucked up my hard disk... yet
It's not sucking up components that you need to worry about, it's the static charge that can build up from its use. If you seriously put a vacuum inside your machine and escaped without a single incident then you're very lucky. Of course, that is to say nothing of the risk of long-term effects.Quote:

I use compressed air then vaccuum the dust where it gathers.
