I was in Munich in 2005 and had a great time. Great food, great beer, and lots of stuff to do. The Deutsches Museum is something of a technical/industrial museum that has an interesting collection of rare military equipment including an Me163 and a Ba349. The city itself is beautiful, with the usual cultural attractions you would find in any major European center (cathedrals, churches, opera house, town hall, outdoor markets, etc.). Nymphenburg palace is just outside the city and easily accessed via tram. It has a nice interior, but the gardens themselves are wonderful to walk when the weather is nice. Next door is also the Munich Botanical Garden, which is easily the best Botanical Garden I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot of them.
