My Early Formative Years

It's way better than the stuff I grew up on.
At least you guys had colour. The world I grew up in was all black, white and grey, and animals (who wore clothes and spoke) outnumbered humans 6:1. Betty Boop.
at least you didn't have to put with this
Ah, dinosaurs, that brings back memories. IIRC it disappeared when I was still pretty young, in fact I might have seen it mostly on video.
Hush yo mouth. Power Rangers came from Japan originally, anyway. Kikaida was a whole different thing; see, he's secretly a robot who fights evil. And the rest of the time he looks mournfully into the distance and plays his red plastic guitar. Much more like Unforgiven in that way.
If you're of a certain age, and you grew up in Hawaii, Kikaida was a big, big deal.
Never saw Kikaida. Ultraman was our thing in the late 60s, early 70s. Johnny Sokko and His Flying Robot was popular too, I guess, but not in central & eastern Pennsylvania. I have to say that Kikaida looks cheesy even for 60s TV, making Ultraman look like state-of-the-art SFX in comparison. :laugh4:
On a routine expidition, met the greeeatest earthquake ever knooown!
I'm surprised with a thread about Dinosaurs, this has gone unmentioned for this long. This series also got remade in the early nineties.
Hehehe. I used to love watching Johnny Quest. :laugh4:
Even though I'm from the 90's
But this was my favorite show of them all. It blows to pieces even that robo-jap-man.
(no wonder I ended up loving airplanes...)
haha, yes, i remember those last three, never heard of the first one though. I basically used to be obsessed with anything on saturday disney, a morning cartoon show we have over here. Inspector gadget was another personal favourite. i had one of those transforming cars.
Anyone remember this?
nah it used to be all about these guys and especially when I was very young this and then when growing up wanting to be a soldier
but I was obsessed with this Cartoon.
I always enjoyed Rocko's Modern Life....heres to hoping at least one person has seen it.
This is what rocked my world as a kid : Thunbderbirds and this
And when I was very young, I watched this before being put to sleep
Tsk.
Kids cartoons? Are you people serious? When I was seven, I spend my saturday mornings reading Proust. By the time I was nine, I had moved on to more mature works, mainly Derrida and Foucault. And at age eleven I read Kant. In German. And blahblahboastblahetcetera
While I was studying in Innsbruck, one of the courses I had was on Austria's role in Hollywood. The Fleischer brothers were important for such innovations as rotoscope animation.
Betty Boop is actually a dog, although as she became more of a staring character instead of a subsidiary character her features became less pronounced. However, occasionally in some of the cartoons they would still show scenes with elongation of her ears and muzzle.
*blip*
For me it was this:

To think I had to be up and in front of the tv to watch these programs at 6 in the mourning. I'm quite pleased if I'm already in bed at that time these days.
Her first appearance is in the animation: Dizzy Dishes. They have it on youtube if you want to look it up.
Warning: some of the humor isn't exactly tasteful (for instance, they have a Jewish character ordering ham), and there's a brief shot where she flashes the crowd (not that you really see anything, but at the time tres risque).
You'll notice that instead of earrings, she has long droopy ears, and her face resembles something like a Boston terrier.
