Light Infantry Stakes - Do they actually work?
I'm not talking about the defences that your infantry can build when you're dug in during the deployment phase, but the line of stakes that your light infantry can build during a battle.
I've been using Green Jackets a lot and it seems pretty logical that a defensive line of stakes would be pretty good. However, they're have never stopped a cavalry charge! The enemy AI (on Hard) sometimes charges it's cav at my line of light infantry and simply goes straight through the line of stakes and smashes into my infantry. They seem to have no affect whatsoever! Even my own cav is unaffected if they run through the light infantry's stakes (in either direction).
Has anyone ever seen them cause carnage like they should, or are they pretty useless?

yea they do, instant death and destruction if you charge your cavalry into those things. or even if you just casually walk past them.......:furious3:
Re: Light Infantry Stakes - Do they actually work?
They do work they wont stop a charge but they will kill the 1st few horses that cross them, I think after they kill a cavalry unit they disappear. The thing to do is plant the stakes and run your light inf away and let your line inf deal with the weekend cavalry.
