How to stop the roman reforms?
I'm asking this becouse in my last to campaigns as Pontos and Carthage, rome had imperial troops by 180 BC. Now i really don't like fighting augustan units when rome has barely moved out of Italy. So is there a way to allow them just to the polybian or marians?
I'm gonna start a new campaign, and i would really like to play vs the romans the polybian style:yes:
Re: How to stop the roman reforms?
Just go a lot quicker, leaving the Romani for too long will become an endless war of fullstacks anyway.
Or you can just modify the EBBS script, so the reforms are harder and you could change the marian reforms to 150BC and Augustan to 100BC for example...

Ahhmmm... i thought u can only get the marian reforms once u reach 172 bc and have at least 45 settlements? Besides ive never seen the romans with marian nor imperial troops. Are u sure ur not using a modified campaign script?

definetly. The AI has it's own reform triggers. I dunno what they are. But i got the imperial romans twice in the last two campaigns.
It sucks. Ahistorical.

If you want to stop Romani having it's reforms then just kill them.:smash:

But he doesn't want to eliminate them, just fight against them with lower-level reforms.
Your best bet, like Fluvius Camillus said, is to dig through the EBBS script, find the AI reform triggers, and make them harder to achieve.

I second that!
Re: How to stop the roman reforms?
I would love to fight Imperial Roman units! ~:(
Re: How to stop the roman reforms?
hm... is it safe to meddle with the script?. Usually when i try to modify something, things come up very bad. Very bad:laugh4:
Re: How to stop the roman reforms?
Just keep an extra copy, if the game crashes you can always replace it with the old one.
All you probably have to do is search around a bit and then change some values..

I've just looked at the script, and i have no idea what i should change. So i better don't touch anything i guess.:shame:
Re: How to stop the roman reforms?
i just found a thread from a while ago, where it was answered how to remedy the AI reform triggers. Now the last question i want to ask is it save-game compatible? I've already started my new campaign, and i want to know if i can change this trigger midway
Re: How to stop the roman reforms?
I could give myself Augustan reforms with my Romani campaign when I had won anyway, save game worked with me.
Re: How to stop the roman reforms?
I'm sorry for bringing this post back to life, but i have a new question.
I once wanted the Romans to stay in the polybians, but now i want to make them stay in the Marian reforms, since i'm playing with the Pahlava.
So i've looked at the EBBS script, and i can't really find out how to change the triggers of the Imperial reforms, in order to make them practicaly impossible for the time being.
To prevent the Marians i changed The minimum provinces to 100, but there are no such triggers for the Imperial reforms, at least i don't see them.
P.S. Since i'm playing with BI.exe do i need to change the EBBS_SCRIPT or the eb_before_bi_EBBS_SCRIPT file?
I guess it's the first one
Thanks
