I've seen comments from time to time that morale bonuses from temples (eg. Romani temple of Mars) don't work or don't have any effect. Is that true?
If so, I'd probably be better off never building temples of Mars at all.

The common consensus is that morale bonuses from buildings aren't functional. There's a specific thread I have in mind that delves into detail on this issue. I'm having trouble finding it, though.
Yeah, they do not work. There has been numerous tests done, and they all seem to confirm our suspicions. Build Temples of Jupiter where you have corruption, and Temples of Ceres in those settlements close to the capital, with no corruption. That will ensure maximum income. Temple of Juno usually does best in rioting cities.
is this an RTW bug or just an EB bug? ( i am guessing the first ).
Does that mean all the bonuses from the Jupiter Capitolinus Temple and the like which the Romani get in Rome are also completely invalid?
If that's right then - Bugger! I knocked down all the temples in my Italian cities and then spent a mint replacing them with temples of mars, and upgrading those ones.
I might just be imagining things, but don't some of the unit descriptions also say certain units have good morale? And some generals get traits or retinues that increase troop morale, right? Are those descriptions/traits/retinues also invalid?
Do remember that a Temple of Mars can help trigger some of the more militaristic traits for FM's, also if the morale bonus did work it would only apply to troops in that specific province anyway.
