Persistent CTD in river battles

In my Casse campaign I have a persistent CTD ( 4 times already - 3 different battles , on different turns ) after a while in battle , whenever I have battles in the river crossings outside of Bagacos , outside the eastern side of the town, in either of the two . I have not checked at other river crossings , nor do I remember if this happened again playing another faction , because in the case of CTD I just stall a bit , move a bit ( after I reload ) and the CTD doesn't persist .

I have tried reloading and trying again , but again , after a while in battle I have a CTD . If I were to do battle elsewhere , not in a river crossing all goes well . However I prefer river crossings as there aren't any of the tress that really annoy me on this side of the map . That's how I understood that the CTD persists .

After learning about the "End Battle" situation , I have minimized my CTD's in battle , now able to even have more than one battles in the same A.I. turn without worrying much about CTD's .

So I'm just curious about this situation .

I have installed all fixes on a clean 1.5 RTW install , however it is from the eras box set .

If it matters at all , I play as the Casse , and the A.I. is Sweboz .

It won't ruin my game , I just wanted to let you know about this .

Crashes during battles are typically a hardware problem. But in your case, possibly the pathfinding AI goes nuts with the bridge? I don't think there is much we can do to fix this.

I had a comparable problem with the pathfinding of the Aedui captain's unit. Once the AI should send her captain into my city, the game ctd'ed. Updating my video drivers helped me out. I just thought this might be useful for someone else.
