Note to CA about your "install"
Please feel free to close this thread, its a rant, & not meant to gleen support or offer anything constructive.
Whosoever has the bare face cheek to claim they know anything about install's at CA or wtf ever this thing was compiled should throw themselves on their sword, grab a bottle of brandy & a revolver, or if needs compel be hung drawn & quatered in the traditonal sense, because...Well hanging or the guillotine is to good for someone of such brute understanding!
The s/w does NOT re-install & it does not uninstall, you've got to deal with rubbish like that on your own. Its truly pitiful that a company with such backing, resource, & in certain cases, obvious talent should be unable to do something so mindboggling basic.
So, in summation, to the person that does the installation, (& yes, I do install's for a living too), I have only this; scorn, slight regard, and contempt
Re: Note to CA about your "install"
is not CA its steam. with steam, you can never truly get rid of a game. the files are always there.
Re: Note to CA about your "install"
Right click -> delete local content, it's the steam way, prolly doesn't delete everything but neither do most uninstallers.
Re: Note to CA about your "install"
A game that actually deletes everything is a rarity nowadays.
Steam works fine.
Re: Note to CA about your "install"
Figured it was Steam but as their ivory towers probably don't have vista's over the org I wanted to be nasty to someone who may visit here.
Delete content doesn't delete the content. True, many install's do not delete all files, they can, people just can't be bothered to make them do it.
Anyway all sorted now, but really...If your game crashes on load, Delete content, Reinstall, followed by uninstall, & a full reinstall, with a sprinkling of reboots and patch downloads should fix the problem, it didn't.
It all felt too much like being at work.
Re: Note to CA about your "install"
Agreed! The Game was total junk from the onset! Every time cickling on a Ship/Fleet, immediate CTD.
each & every time! !!! Did not matter how many times about reboot, re-install, or those Who helped Me with file re-write, game did the same damned thing on every single instance on trying to use a Ship/Fleet, immediate CTD.
Nothing but a 40 Euro mistake buying the thing, which I threw away already. CA had better truly sit down & think the matter through the next time they wish to release a game, and resolve EVERY SINGLE BUG & GLITCH! !!! before it goes to market.

In other words, they'll never release a game again. :sweatdrop:
That you threw it away doesn't mean you can't play it anymore since it's tied to your Steam account.
