Errorless CTD...
Hi,
I have a problem. I added a unit into my mod but now when ever I try to start the campaign I get this kind of error - Campaign Map Loading Kick to Main Menu
I searched in the forum but I couldn't find an answer to my problem. What was suggested in A modder's guide to CTDs thread does not help.
Campaign Map Loading Kick to Main Menu:
- Typographical error in descr_strat.txt - I didn't touch that file
- Overwriting rather than deleting and then copying an update of map tga files - I always delete that file!
- Resource not defined in EDB - There are other units that use that hidden resource and with them I had no problems.
- Typo in building capabilities in EDB - A typo in EDB usually gives me error message..
All files are in the right place. I can use that unit in custom battles without problems. But when I try to start a campaign it returns to Main Menu.
So, could someone help me?
This is me right now -> :wall:

Re: Errorless CTD...
It seems that I can load autosave before those changes. :inquisitive:
Never mind that.
But I can't start a new campaign. It freezes for couple of seconds and then goes back to Menu screen.

Re: Errorless CTD...
You may wanna try to redo the thing.

Re: Errorless CTD...
Anyone have better ideas? :beam:
My last back up was about 5 regions, 10 units and some other minor changes ago.

Re: Errorless CTD...
If adding a unit caused some issues then simply comment it out. I can't see how adding a unit would cause a KTM though...

Re: Errorless CTD...
I commented that unit out but KTM still happens! :wall:
If I changed other files then I don't remember which ones! :wall:
Isn't there any programs that could find this little bug of mine?

Re: Errorless CTD...
have a look at this thread
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=115838

Re: Errorless CTD...
Make a note of the files you change - it's called a change log - and always keep a backup of vanilla. You can then use software such as "Beyond Compare" to compare the files. Or, for now, just sort your files by date modified and see which ones list first.

Re: Errorless CTD...
I make daily backups of my mod. This allows me to roll back to any day's version of every file. It is very handy.
