Tool: Automatic vote tally
Hello all,
I've made an excel sheet which is stuffed to the eyeball with formulas which automatically tallys votes for mafia game hosts.

As you can see the first thing the host has to do is insert the names of the players in the first column in alphabetical order. Then the host makes a copy of this template sheet each round. Each round the host notes down the votes of the players in the second column (being careful to use the same spelling as the first column).
The sheet then does the rest, creates a tally and lists who voted for the top 6 candidates automatically.
Hope this is useful.

EDIT: note the intentional mistake in my screenshot: player 11's vote is not spelt correctly and so has not been tallied.

This looks great Myrddraal! I'll have to check it out during after class today.

As a note, you can use the A(number) instead of the actual name, or in the formula bar, do = then click on the name.
Would speed up the process.

Re: Tool: Automatic vote tally
I made an excel sheet a while back for Swords in the Moon. If anyone wants it, just drop me a pm and I'll e-mail it to you.
I think I have a simplified version somewhere too, more suited for small vanilla games.
EDIT: followed Myrddraals' example and uploaded it: http://www.filefactory.com/file/ah3g...oku_mafia_xlsx
In the top left corner (A1), you can put the number of thread posts already checked; the bottom line gives the total of votes each player received and the last column is for checking (the number on each line has to be 1 or 0).
Re: Tool: Automatic vote tally
I could do an algorithm that could do the same without using Excel. Would be even better. It would be a great idea for Huge games like Capo, where there is a variable ammount of players. Of course it could be used by any host.
