Desperately need help with Algebra II!!!

Ok, so after losing everything for an undefined amount of time due to a bad Algebra II test, I have decided to ask for help here.

I will not ask you guys to do my tests for me (I take online school at CDIS, google it), but if I have trouble, then I'll post some of the sample questions. I'm sure that having you guys explain it will be much better than the crappy(and sometimes non-existent) descriptions given. I know that this will be solely out of the good of your hearts (wow, I'm posting this on the internet?), but I truly need help here, and I failed Geometry and had to re-take it last year. Every other class I excel in for some reason, including Biology...

So thank you to anyone who is willing to help me. I wish I had something other than my gratitude to offer.

I'm sure there would be plenty of people (me included) who would be glad to answer any questions you have.

I think I did alright in Algebra.. Integration is where my mathematics life began to go down the hill.

Could you post some sample question so I know I'm on the right page?

i got a B+ in the Alg2 course as a final grade and a D on the final exam. but i can try to help.

hey, thats kinda funny Hooahguy! I just happened to get a D on my Medieval Hsitory final, and a B+ in the class. Those damned Rennaiscance artists are what killed me...DAMN YOU TITIAN!!!

Until grade 10. Grade 11 is when I got lost and never bothered to pick up...
So its been about 3 years since I last properly picked up a math book.

Quadratic formula is that thing! Formula which is quadratic!

Long time since I've done any maths other than Financial maths. Not that I'm unhappy about that though. :smash:

ah yes, but my keyboard has no print screen. laptop you see.

y = mx + c is the standard format for the thingy. M is the gradient and C is y-intercept.

Rest are in terms we don't use in Queensland, or need images etc

I'm pretty sure most (if not all) laptop keyboards have a print screen function. It may just be in blue, under a function key.

same thing with Chemistry. i got an F on the final exam, B+ on the final grade. the reason? i owe it all to CuteWolf, and how he helped will be a secret between me and him....

From about 5 minutes of work i can tell you

2 is b
9 is -7/10
10 is -2
11 is c
13 is d
15 is b


A lot of the questions are unanswerable because of missing images.

If you need more help just pm i will guide you through it.

Oh and try www.physicsforum.org i find that it can help a whole lot and their "mods" literally do nothing but help people solve problems.

If it helps.....I'm in Penn's Math 114 class which is Calculus II. Thats a bit of a misnomer really since its basically a little of differential equations and then multivariable/vector calculus. Weird thing is I already know the 240/241 stuff.....which is differential equations + linear algebra.....

Anyways, math is something that you just have to practice. Preferably if you can understand the concept quickly, you won't have to do much or any at all but I suppose that isn't the case for you and algebra 2 right now. I'd recommend you to just basically do all the problems in your textbook without looking at the answers beforehand.....most schools usually offer tutors too so it wouldn't hurt to contact them.

Its quite possible I'm wrong, but would the y not become negative when moving it over to the other side of the equation to put it in standard form?

A is in standard form (as per my post, y = mx + c), gives the correct gradient and y intercept, no?

NAY! It's y = mx + b, and b is the slope, and it's called slope-intercept form! Standard form is Ax + By + c = 0.

I have no idea what this slope intercept form is.

Maybe im thinking of one for a straight line. Most likely.

Maybe instead of just giving you answers you could tell us the ones you had trouble on, and whoever is able to solve it can give you a basic explanation of how...?

Probably learn more that way... (or the tutoring idea is probably better but more effort as well)

What type of stats? Regression? I got an HD in stats last semester. (I wish I was doing as well in my Law class :wall:)
