How to Delete a faction?

I only Require 10 factions for my mod,
to delete the rest is it as simple as deleting everything in the texts that says "brutii" for example?

Many of the tutorials tell me not to touch anything in the {} though

First this is the scriptorium for tutorial and tools and such, not a location for modding questions.
Second, if you only want 10 factions, just remove references to the others from descr_strat.txt and descr_regions.txt, you don't need to totally eliminate them from the game.
