First Cohort question.......

Hi All,

I know this question has come up a few times but I have not come across an answer yet......

I want to be able to retrain my Marian First Cohorts outside of Rome - indeed anywhere I can recruit Post Marian Cohorts. I understand that recruiting is defined in the export_descr_buildings.txt and by judicious cutting and pasting and renaming I can now recruit and retrain within the "Homeland" areas but so far I have had no success in extending into conquered territories. Is there a switch or something outside of the export_descr_buildings.txt file that would prevent the First Cohort from appearing? The technique I have used is little short of butchery - I found all instances of the Cohort ii in the export_descr_buildings.txt, copied them, pasted beneath and then changed the names to the appropriate Cohort i.

No worries - sorted now.

Yeah, you just have to copy+paste the recruitment lines into the appropriate lower-level barracks, assuming the First Cohorts need a more advanced barracks than regulars.

But you know that. Learning by trial and error is often the best way.

Yep - just a bit tricky to sort out which one is which...........

Also got confused by cohort i and cohort ii. :beam:
