1.5: what's up with the autocalc odds?
I noticed this oddity when I was facing a depleted gendarmerie unit with half a stack of decent troops. The auto-calc odds displayed were in AI's favor. For the heck of it, I autoresolved and won by a huge margin with almost no troops lost. From that point, I started to pay attention to the meter. It's weird in 1.5. Frequently, it would show advantage for the AI, when the real odds favor the player (as suggested by the autoresolve results too). Maybe the display is reversed by mistake. The player's odds are shown on the AI's side and vice versa.
Anyone else notice this?

There was something in the fixes that talked about the autoresolve meter. It has always been a bit wacky. It is not new to 1.5.
Still the best practice is when in doubt, fight it out.
Re: 1.5: what's up with the autocalc odds?
Half the time with city fortifications it "forgets" them. Eg Florida and Netherlands. I had to fight several dozen siege defences when the Cherokees attacked with pitifully inadequate forces (2 inf+6 cav vs 6 inf) but the autocalc had me getting massacred, when I normally lose all of 12 guys. Such a waste of time, I could only play a few turns before getting frustrated and quitting.

Yeah, I find it funny when I had a bunch of horrible units (basically just the auto generated ones when attacked) and the enemy had a big cav and artillery force, but only a hand full of men. I used the autogenerated men just to kill off the infantry trying to scale the wall, then I put them in the middle and just clicked "superfast speed" so it ends with me being the victor.
