Pies pretty much just liquid cake. It can't compete with real cake though.
Methinks you are making your pies wrong, a pie consists of tender chunks of steak by itself or with mushrooms, onions, carrots, or basically whatever veggies take your fancy, all cooked with a bit of gravy in a pastry. They can be big enough to feed the whole tribe, but the best kind are hand sized pies. Now I'm dying for a pie and my oven is broken :wall:

Sweet food is disgusting, I hate pie. And cake. A good pie is a meat-pie or a quiche. Cake, yeah I know what you are going to ask, yeah once never again.
If you include pizzas and pot pies then it's not a contest. Plus I made my own ice-cream pie for kicks a month or so back.

A pizza is not a pie, it is a flatbread topped with tomato, cheese, herbs etc.

Pies and Cakes are both delicious. A world without both of them would be a sad world indeed.

The whole thing is pretty rediculous, comparing a meal to a dessert is just silly. The dessert will almost always taste better, but the meal will be far more satisfying. If you ate enough cake to fill you up like you would with a pie, then you would feel sick and if you only ate a single slice of pie like you would with a cake, then you would be left feeling hungry.
If I could only chose one or the other then I would definitely go with the pie since then I would get a full satisfying meal instead of just a few delicious bites.
Remember that in America the word "pie" means strictly dessert dish. If a pie is not a dessert pie, then it is a "meatpie" (if it has meat that is). Hooah's comparison is perfectly reasonable in the US. But even the American pies (and any dessert pie for that matter) are still more wholesome and satisfying than cake, almost like a main dish, despite the fact they are sweet.Quote:
