Republican or Democrat
Those are your choices. Which do you follow and why?
Or, choose the other and describe why you follow neither.
:2thumbsup:
I follow Republicans because I don't believe in the government giving people what the don't deserve. They're too in debt anyway.
There are more reasons of course but I have to sign off.
Enjoy!

Re: Republican or Democrat
Whig party! No really neither. Democrats wanna legalize prostitution but wanna ban guns. Republicans are pro-life but hate socialism aka facism/czarism/communism. There isn't really a big-picture, move-forward party. I support, endorse and vote for somebody eventually out of lack of choice.

Re: Republican or Democrat
Gah! If the GOP actually followed the fiscal conservative, small government front it used to put up and ditched the fringe wackos, Republican would be the choice. But they are both cheeks of the same :daisy: as it were, so Gah! it is.

Re: Republican or Democrat
The Republicans want nothing, but power. The Democrats want everything, as long as they don't have to pay for it. Both sides are as neutered as my dog, and not nearly as fun to talk about.
Two Eunuchs walked into a bar, one a Democrat, the other a Republican. They order their drinks and start having a discussion over tax reform, eventually the debate gets pretty heated, and the Republican gets frustrated and shouts "You Democrats want everything but haven't got the balls to just force the reform!" The Democrat then replies "well, we wanted to talk to you about that first, to make sure we were on the same page."

Re: Republican or Democrat
Perhaps you could have asked us if we were conservative or liberal? American politics are vastly different from European. A conservative in Europe, especially in regions like, say Scandinavia, would be a Democrat here...
Not to mention, I cannot answer the poll. I may be a fiscal and purely political conservative, but to say I associate myself with Republicans? Nah. I am too socially liberal and atheist for that. I would rather identify with Democrats. But I am not a Democrat. I merely view them as the lesser of two evils.

Re: Republican or Democrat
Speaking of which, I have to say perhaps Ron Paul was right about readopting the gold standard after all. I know I made many lengthy and derisive arguments against a readoption of the gold standard during the US presidential primary campaign, but I have to say, almost all of the predictions made by hard-currency adovcates over the years have come to pass.
Without pointing the finger at either political party, as both engaged in this practice, the current fiscal difficulties in the United States, and the solutions they've adopted, point to what's wrong with a fiat currency system... namely governments in an attempt to placate their citizens show zero restraint on inflating their money supply, effectively devaluing currency around the world in very non-productive ways.

Re: Republican or Democrat
Anarchist...
Republicans, Democrats, Conservatives, Labour etc are very much alike in that they represent the interests of a select few, i.e. the rich elites.

Re: Republican or Democrat
I have chronic and irreconcilable differences with both parties, so I register Indie.
-
Re: Republican or Democrat
I hate both parties, but the GOP seems to be more on the right track and have a lot less corruption than the Dems. Personally, I would like to establish the Wupp*** Party and run my own candidates, but that isn't gonna happen. :beam:

Re: Republican or Democrat
I have the luxury I don't have to chose. I would, however, consider myself a pretty run-of-the-mill Democrat.
The American Middle Class is under siege, being robbed blind. It is the Democrats, and not that pied piper party of the Republicans, who are their natural ally.

Did I mention yet that her approval rating now tops Obama's?

Re: Republican or Democrat
As I personally despise both parties I will not associate with either of them. I'm an independent and take issues individually, not as party platforms.
