So I prodded around CNNs "Latino In America"
And can't belive the historical innaccuracy people propogate on there.
It's phyiscaly painful to read some of these comments.
Both sides of the arguement are so blatantly misinformed it's astounding

This is why I hate these broad brush topics. CNN knows jack diddley about hispanics and I can already tell this is going to be a massive train wreck which divides rather than unifies.
Re: So I prodded around CNNs "Latino In America"
Would you mind giving us an overview of the topics, the CNN moments of infamy? It seems the CNN is doing a very broad lien of programs on this issue, and there is too much too read...

then you are naive, i dare say. try holding a conversation with your average man on the street about basically anything beyond 'dancing with the stars'. it won't be pretty.
Re: So I prodded around CNNs "Latino In America"
I don't know anything about Latino-Americans, so I can't make a judgement.

I can't believe Lou Dobbs isn't in this documentary.
Re: So I prodded around CNNs "Latino In America"
At least latino's understand the pencil is mightier than the sword, always talking about their essays.

They are talking about their essays/esé's.
esé = is Mexican slang for "dude"/"guy". A bit like "nigga" in black circles.
essay = paper
essay has the same pronounciation as esé.
Re: So I prodded around CNNs "Latino In America"
I understood the joke. My spanish is actually worse than my swedish, but I've watched every South Park episode so...
Re: So I prodded around CNNs "Latino In America"
Heh, I got it from GTA: San Andreas actually. :_:

Only when a foreigner pronounces it... :beam: The final "e" sounds like the "e" in Leopold.
Now on the meaning, it's actually more like an "it". The slang for "dude" at least among the youth (-25) is "wey", which, I believe is pronounced as if it was English.
(Oh and it goes without the accent.)
Now on topic, what's the problem, there are too many posts there.
Re: So I prodded around CNNs "Latino In America"
I hardly see the point of this Documentary, Latinos have been in the US and/or Territories for nearly as long as its been it's own nation. Because it's CNN, it hasn't been totally unbiased politically, and I've caught several half truths in about the forty minutes or so I found myself watching it, not many out and out lies, but they seem to like to put the Rosy side to everything, unfortunately, that's just not the Human Story, and it makes it seem somewhat dirty that they felt the need to brush to the side some of the darker issues surrounding the Latino Communities.
Re: So I prodded around CNNs "Latino In America"
Besides, I'm sure most Latino families have roots on the American continent earlier than most white Americans.
