I've been wondering something for a while now, what is the origin behind the term for the Pontic prince, 'Koiranides'? I've done forum, Wikipedia and Google searches, but I've yet to come up with anything relevant. Is it related to the Persian name, Cyrus, in some way?
Also, what is the story behind the family name for the Pontic royalty, 'Kianos'? My only guess is that it comes from the city of Kios, where the family ruled before they established their kingdom.
